ADGA: Issues with it's new software
(posted July 2022)
(Copied from a friend)
Public service announcement:
Because many people in this group are new to Nigerian Dwarf goats
and/or new to registered ND Goats,
I've had several situations brought to my attention
where buyers felt they were being scammed when they weren't.
I debated posting this but people need to be aware.
The American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) is one of the main registries
utilized in this group,
as well as the American Goat Society (AGS).
ADGA, early in 2021, converted their online registration system
to something you will see called "Next Generation" or NG.
This system has been a VERY bumpy road for goat breeders.
There are times where it has worked very well,
but still many instances where people cannot get papers from ADGA
through no fault of their own.
One example is for people trying to re-register an AGS goat with ADGA.
It used to be a simple thing to do,
but NG was not programmed properly and is not currently able to do this.
So breeders/owners trying to get ADGA papers on AGS animals, can't,
through no fault of their own.
That is one example, there are other issues as well.
Of recent, the system has had billing glitches.
I've seen numerous reports (and experienced them first hand)
of double billing and/or funds just randomly taken from peoples accounts.
ADGA in its most recent software update,
totally botched most members accounts and people were reporting huge erroneous credits.
Because of this NG was shut down and a "fix" pushed,
which resulted in, you guessed it, a complete flip flop
where now people are reporting erroneous balances due.
I'm posting this because,
until ADGA gets this right,
every single breeder and seller that has an erroneous balance due,
cannot:
*register animals,
*transfer animals,
*or conduct business in their system until that balance is cleared.
I'm in that boat right now too, unfortunately.
We have no choice but to wait,
and if not fixed
try to reach staff (a challenge in itself),
or pay something we do not owe.
Communication is critical,
and please be aware that if you are waiting on papers
it may not be that the seller is trying to screw you over,
but because of something completely and totally out of their control.
Talk to each other.
If it doesn't sound right or your not sure, feel free to ask.
