Milk maid, coming through
Here's a look at what I see every morning for my chores, since the babies get penned at night, and are out with their moms after milking.
NOTE: a routine of milking
helps an udder increase it's capacity
and can help elongate teets.
Unfortunately I've not been milking
since my body no longer works well with dairy (sad!)
so, though udders may not seem as large as if they were being milked
they still carry the same "capacity" / potential to be as large (get the play on words?)
And of course an udder increases capacity with freshenings
as well as when more milk is made to feed multiple babies (twins as opposed to a single kid).

As our human bods age...
"they" say it's a good idea to consume milk
especially us ladies
to strengthen our bones.
But, Cows' milk has added horomones-
given to the cow so she will produce more milk,
which she passes on to us in her milk
and affects us in various ways,
not always for the better.
Unfortunately my body is affected by the horomones in any milk,
hence I am not the milkmaid of days past.
But It won't keep me from enjoying a wonderful cup or two
every now and then.
Goats milk does not have the added horomones
and is also said to be easier to digest.

Past milkers:
Below are some of our fine milkers that have moved on.
Mini, our matriarch
Mini is our best milker.
She has the best attached bag,
and teats long enough for hubby to milk.
Her orifices are open
to help fill that pail fast.
She is our eldest, consequently with the biggest udder.

Spring of 2016 is her first freshening,
and a fine one at that.

Lupe
Lupe on the milkstand, her third freshening. She is LONG bodied, and note the straightness in her legs (toes point straight).
Dolly's third freshening, but she's too busy munching to show you her pretty face. LOTS of milk here (6 cups)
Dancer shows quality, likewise, with her third freshening.
Cocoa
Top photo: Cocoa has a nice udder, teats pointing down to the milk bucket, and medial suspensory ligament. I wish her teats were longer, though, so I use a hand milker. This is her fourth freshening. Straight legs, wide at hocks, and see below her long and DEEP body- good for kidding. This girl, Cocoa, needs a little (capful) oil in her feed to help her dry skin replenish her hair. Her fourth freshening, in 2014.
Ying Yang
Ying Yang's first freshening (2017)
showing nice attachment, suspensory ligament and teats facing down into the milk pail.
No, she does not give chocolate milk.
